INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES: three examples of our Systems Integration and Support projects for SMEs.
LOCAL AREA NETWORK DESIGN
Project Brief:With the transfer of ownership of the company, the UK franchisee of a worldwide manfacturer, it was decided to computerise the, then completely manual, office. After researching all of the requirements, and the needs of the new owning company, a small office Local Area network was designed. Also included was internet access and security, and the ability for the remote sales team to communicate back with the main office. The ability to provide secure remote support was key to this endeavour
as the client had no internal computer expertise.
SECURITY REVIEW
Project Brief: Following a suspected intrusion into their systems, an Auction House commissioned a review of their security environment and procedures. On investigation, what they had thought might have been an intrusion by a disgruntled employee, turned out to be an old document that had been restored as part of some research, and not properly examined and filed. After looking at both their internal and external links, and their processes, a number of recommendations were made and changes agreed with the internal IT staff.
RESILIENCE & SUPPORTABILITY STUDY
Project Brief:A number of significant outages at this medium sized retail organisation led to a review of their IT infrastructure. Interviews with both business and systems member of staff led to a number of different areas being reassessed. These included the update of their line of business application, the
increase in their IT staff levels and a review of their investment priorities.
